Ted Knapp – comedy
I love comedy. Everything from the upbeat and slapstick humor of Abbott & Costello and the Marx Brothers, all the way to the sick and twisted world of Jim Norton. I live to laugh and I am laughing pretty much all the time. I find myself turning to comedy more when things might not be going so great in my life. Yes, I am blessed for the life I have and I don’t take that for granted, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have rough times. I am always smiling because I can find humor in just about every situation. I am sure that has a lot to do with why my stress level in very low. Life can be a shit storm from time to time, it is how just how I deal with it.
I also think comedy has helped me stay friends so long with some of the people that are in my life. I am not saying that I am a prize, I know I am not everyone’s favorite. I was never given a filter from my brain to my mouth, so people have a hard time accepting the truth when I speak it. Instead of accepting it, it is easier to just dislike me for saying it. I am the first one to tell you that some of those people in my life are great friends to me, yet they are real assholes. I am just happy that I am able to look at them and laugh at their “assholeness”, rather than lose their friendship.
