My Music World
I got bit by the music bug when I was 12 years old. I was rocking to Kiss, Alice Cooper and Sly and the Family Stone. It was then I met Daniel. We formed our first band when we were in sixth grade. I was playing bass with Daniel on the drums. “Hot Ash” was the the name and we were bad ass. We were just like every other garage band in the world, except we knew we were better. We covered The Stones, Bad Company, Hendrix and more Stones. We would play our twelve song set and then play them all again, in case someone missed one of them. We were the number one pick for all the school dances and house parties, mostly due to the fact there were no other bands in the area. We were legends in our own minds and no one could tell us any different.

In 1975, I was fortunate enough to meet Dave Mason, co-founder of the band, “Traffic”. Dave was in the beginning phases of his solo career then. After repeated visits with him at his concerts, he realized that I wasn’t going away and that it would just be easier to get to know me. Almost 35 years later we are very close friends. I have worked for Dave in many capacities, but I prefer to just be around as a friend. Through Dave, I have been fortunate to have experienced things that I could have only dreamed of, prior. I got to spend time with George Harrison back stage at one of Dave’s shows and then sit with him and have conversations during the concert. I was side by side with Dave at his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction. I was alone in the dressing room with Dave Mason, Steve Winwood and Jim Capaldi as they reunited after 20 years apart to do an inpromtu show at the Bottom Line in NYC. I could go on with these types of stories forever, but my point is that I owe my good fortune with regards to music to Dave Mason and I thank him for that.

Below, you will see the artists that I have met over the years. I have to say that the one thing about all of them is that they are all incredibly nice people and welcomed me with open arms. I have gotten to know them over the years and developed some very cool relationships with many of them.
